Agyendam is a community located in the Central Region of Ghana, found within the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District (AAK), about thirty (30) minutes drive from various coastal areas including Anomabo, Biriwa, Cape Coast and Mouri. The Agyendam community consists of local Residents and the Diasporas showing the connection between them based on ancestry.
The Agyendam Community is currently headed by Nana Benyin XIII from the Dehyena-Anona Royal Family. Agyendam is sub-divided into two(2) main areas Old Agyendam and New Agyendam (Agyendam Ahenkrom). Within these two areas are about twenty (20) different land portions of which each piece is headed by an Asaase Baatan who holds the land on behalf of Nana Benyin XIII.
The Agyendam Community Development Centre was purposely created to receive, create and process ideas, directions and approaches that benefit the Agyendam residents and its community. It also aims to bring other African Diaspora who wish to settle within Agyendam. Moreover, the main aim is to build a community with conducive living.
With many years of history, Agyendam is one of oldest communities in the Central Region and in Ghana. Agyendam houses many families in the community. More and more families are relocating to Agyendam. Chief Benyin XIII is building community relations and developing giving residents hope and ensuring future success. Love and unity are the Community's foundations.
The new Agyendam Community Development Centre is mobilising support for projects ranging from Schools, Youth, Women, Healthcare, Elderly, Employment and Poverty Alleviation.
To craft and deliver sustainable solutions for the long term holistic wellbeing of Agyendam Residents, Environment and Biodiversity.
To have an Agyendam Community that is diverse, viable, economically and environmentally sustainable.
We have a powerful potential in our Agyendam youth, and we must have the courage to change old ideas and practices so that we may direct their power toward good ends.
